History
September 8, 1975 with the new state of the art facility ready to go in Halawa, the "Old Stadium" designed to last 10-15 years has finally run out of time. The Hawaii Islanders beat Salt Lake City 8-0 to with the teams first Pacific Coast League championship. After the game, the crowd joins together to sing Aloha 'Oe, then the lights go out.

Honolulu Stadium was built mostly of wood, so by the 1960s, it took on a new nickname thanks to some unwanted occupants. After awhile, it was called "Termite Palace".
